BIO I GUESS! - BARRY KAZMER bkazmer1@gmail.com - 103009

I formally (Well, online) met Chris just last week. But I was at Costa Mesa High School when he was there. He was a senior as was his Sis and I was a lowly freshman. I was in awe of these people who were so much older and taller than I.

I was 14 and 5’4” or thereabouts. When I graduated I was 5’11” and 137 pounds of raw unadulterated power. OK, I was skinny! I grew to 6’1” the next year in the army and I left at 198 pounds. Had I been like that in high school I would have played football along with the baseball and track that I did compete in during spring and summers.

I met my wife Janice Jacobs on Halloween 1966 (I am not allowed to joke about that any more.) She was dating my buddy Richard Newton. Sadly he insisted that I meet this cute little creature that he adored. I got introduced and then I met her again in May of 1967 when she wound up asking me to her prom. We got married and that lasted 17 years officially but in truth was over in the first week.

We had our children, Patrick in 1968, Jason in 1973 and Jennifer in 1976. Now we have grandchildren Braxton and Hudson through Jason and Joey, and Kaden from Jennifer and Ray.

I seem to be a nostalgia freak and have photos in many places based on our times in high school. I have yearbooks from all the schools in our area from the 60’s and send them out to any who are missing theirs for any reason.

Getting to meet Chris after all this time is such a treat. He is a talented and very intelligent man. He loves bats as do I and that makes this even better!

MORE THAN MEETS THE (not third) EYE! - RONNIE FRIEDMAN-BARONE - 102609

I met Paul (Chris Wing) when I was 17 (no Frank Sinatra, please)!  Years later someone asked how long we had known each other.  Simultaneously, without every having discussed it, we both said, "We've ALWAYS known each other."  "Always" meant "always," like the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, like "has been, is and always will be." .... proof of the existence of something not experienced, but known, if we are lucky;  a sign that there is some thing much greater than what we see in front of us every day... even tho it is so insidiously  hidden from us by the day to day rubble that has us jumping through hoops just to get to the nearest checkpoints.

CHILDREN - JMORAN - 102509

i had 5 brothers and sisters us having our very own subculture of children, our parents only occasionally having influence, slightly directing us to cooperative and non-violence, though make no bones about it, we had a strict code of ethics we enforced, almost fascist with our cooperation, the example being me having to trade favorite colors, not liking the one we all worked out together, and the youngest, we voted for her favorite color, then assigned it, not letting her vote, cuz that would result in a tie.

i grew up to have 2 children, whose lives have controlled mine.  i work with children, have my whole adult life, that must be the culture that i understand.  born in the east, grew up in the midwest, and spent most of my adult life in austin texas, music capital of the world.  from falling asleep listening to the radio reading as a child to gravitating toward any and all loud music, guitars drums lots of bass, lyrics that rule, generating and encouraging lots of life, i love music, mostly live music.  in a house full of people with strong personalities, and odd characters, all of them, my siblings, my parents, my children, their daddy,  still, at almost 54, i am drawn to strange strong personalities, with a need for that.  just the fact that i was one of 6 in a world where we were kept from television and much else of the world, that restricted world created a view that i will be eternally grateful for.

my children, they are almost grown.  the most kind and caring and thoughtful children i have ever been around.  hope their lives are as fullfilling as mine.  a world guided by children, with lots of relocating going on, music there all the times, that has been my life.

"My Defense"  - my autobiography

To everyone I have hurt:  sorry. This is my defense.

Facts:

Born chabelita, in Houston, 1955, 2nd of 2 daughters to alfred (tex-mex) and ninfa (mexican national.)   Ninfa was nuts. Alfred liked baseball and beer.

Early memories:

These people are all nuts. And mean. I found comfort in 1962 when nl expanded to create colt 45s and mets. Sports would be my best friend for life.

Two other great loves: movies and kinks.

First 50 years marked by ruthless running thru friends.  This would be a lifelong trademark: a perverse slash and burn which I would pay for with shame and a relentless running.

Found teaching so I could teach myself to feel and to love.

The end
